Johnny and Anna Smith have a long history of ministry. Johnny began his Christian Ministry at
only 14 years of age and became a pastor at age 17. He has served a variety of churches through the years--including
two which he and Anna founded together. They have also served a number of churches that needed a time of restoration
while others were "between pastors." Their ministry has also been one of counseling and teaching the Word
of God. Native Texans, Johnny grew up in Bronte and Anna was reared in Ranger. Both attended Hardin-Simmons University
in Abilene, Texas and Johnny graduated from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth. Because of a personal love
for camping, Johnny and Anna sensed a need for a ministry to RVers. Johnny Smith Ministries (JSM) was founded in 1998 for
the express purpose of reaching people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Their primary effort is extended toward campers
and those who have chosen to become full-time RVers. Thousands of people have made their recreational vehicles their
homes and travel from place to place. Some of these are continually on the move while others stay in the same place for several
months at a time. Johnny and Anna have been there to minister to their needs and serve as pastor/chaplain in their difficulties
and their joys. For several years they served a park in South Fork, Colorado during the summer months and then journeyed
to Uvalde, Texas for the winters. With Anna facing the need for back and knee surgery, the decision was made in 2003
to make Uvalde their home and ministry headquarters. In addition to the ministry in the RV Park, their service has
been extended to Central Christian Church in Sabinal, a community 20 miles east of Uvalde. God continues to bless the Smith's
efforts as they fulfill His call on their lives.
JSM is fully chartered as a non-profit entity in the State
of Texas and also has tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service. All gifts to JSM are fully tax-deductible. A
Board of Directors oversees the activities and expenditures of the ministry. We are accountable to the Lord and to our Partners
who participate with us in this outreach.
